Overview: This school offers and an integral system that combines all of the yogic studies and is broadly based on the training Swami Yogasagar recieved in the Satyananda tradition of yoga. Each class will be adapted to suit the ability of the students present and will include asana (stretching), pranayama (breathing) followed by Yoga Nidra (relaxation technique). All of the classes and courses available at the Satyam Yoga School have been designed by Swami Yogasagar and he will teach all classes unless he has to attend an alternative engagement in which case he will appoint a teacher trained by him to teach any class he is unable to attend. ITY (Beginners): This unique course is the perfect choice for all new students to yoga. Each student who completes the course will be able to attend any yoga class in any tradition or teaching style with confidence and safety. Those who choose to remain with the Satyam yoga School once the course is finished have several options available to them. These include advanced training in Hatha Yoga, Teachers Training, and all workshops that are offered by the school. If you have previously attended yoga classes with a different school and want to deepen your knowledge of yoga practice or have an interest in learning some of the basic theory and yoga philosophy then definitely this course is for you. Sadhana Class: these are the general classes open to the public and intended for students with previous experience in the practice of yoga. Classes will include the traditional intermediate asana stretches combined with pranayama and meditation techniques that may involve mantras and kriya yoga. Each month a new sequence of asanas integrated with pranayama (breathing) and dharana (concentration techniques) are introduced to promote a deeper level of practice with a strong emphasis on the individual student developing a personal practice at home. These classes take an integrated approach to yoga that will induce a meditative awareness and deep introversion. Nia Dance: These classes are taught by Tarryn Sacher and are subject to a fee that is independant fro m the Satyam Yoga School fee structure.
Private Classes: The benefit of private lessons is that you receive personal attention and can progress at your own pace. Swami Yogasagar will create a program for you to address your personal needs with regard to spiritual interests, stress related ailments and general health issues. Handouts and a daily practice can also be created for each student. We can arrange for private sessions during the day or on weekends however all private arrangements must be booked directly with the office.
